Your breast augmentation with lift will begin with surgical incisions made in the following possible areas, depending on the type of implants you choose and the extent of the lift needed:

around the areolae
around the areolae and vertically down from the areola to the breast crease
around the areolae, vertically down from the breast crease, and along the breast crease itself.

Once the incisions are made, the implants are inserted in a pocket, either under or over the muscle. Placement is decided based on which implant placement is best for your natural proportions.

After the implants are properly placed, Dr. Pratt will lift your breasts. He will tighten the muscle, remove excess skin, and reshape the breast tissue to achieve better breast contour. As a part of this, he will reposition (and possibly trim or reshape) the nipple and areola to create a youthfully upward tilt.

What to expect after breast augmentation with lift surgery

After your procedure, you will be able to go home the same day with a friend or family member, who will ideally be able to help care for you. You will have a compression bandage around your chest to support your breasts, limit post-surgical swelling and protect your new breast shape.

Within the first week after your procedure, do not lift anything over five pounds. Do not lift your arms above your shoulders or exert yourself. You will begin to be able to get around more easily by the second week and be able to return to many of your usual daily activities. After about a month, Dr. Pratt will check in with you to give you clearance to exercise or do other more rigorous activities.

As your body continues to heal over the coming weeks and months, the swelling will subside and the implants will settle into their final position.
